Los Ojos is proud to present new works by Kyle James Dunn and Sarah Elise Hall, two Brooklyn-based artists who are exhibiting for the first time at the gallery.
Kyle James Dunn creates sculptural paintings that incorporate a maximalist approach to stunning effect. Using materials such as foam, plaster, fiberglass and caulk in addition to traditional acrylic paint, his works dazzle the eye. The pieces are playfully colorful and masterfully textured. Dunn holds a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art. He lives in Ridgewood and works in Bushwick.
Sarah Elise Hall’s refined and complex studio practice addresses the systems that develop within the microcosm of that space. She considers themes of breakdown, contamination and corruption in sculptures and paintings that fall into the broad categories of slabs, stacks and cavities. The results are a range of pleasingly abstract and minimalist compositions in mediums as varied as plywood and acrylic paint skins. Hall holds a BFA from the Ontario College of Art and Design and an MFA from the New York Academy. Her work has been included in exhibitions in New York, Berlin, Toronto and Belgrade. She lives and works in Bushwick.
